Description
Women’s Natural Building Collective Introduction
What will I learn? We will start with the basics of Natural Building. April will provide a brief presentation of various methods and materials, many of which are used in the Rammed Earth home. We’ll continue with a tour of the residence where you will be able to see and touch examples of these methods, such as clay and lime plasters or paints. Following the tour, you’ll get your hands dirty with samples of several kinds of plasters and paints. We’ll wrap up with a discussion of the needs and wants of the group, to determine the topic of our next hands-on workshop.
Do I need skills or physical abilities? Natural Building is for EVERYONE. You do not need to have any skills or prior construction knowledge, your age does not matter, nor does your physical abilities. There is a task for everyone; I have witnessed the most beautiful job sites where each women naturally gravitates to her own task or support task. We use one another when it becomes too physical or too hard.
