Root Down Designs is a full-service architectural firm specializing in highly sustainable and low-carbon building solutions.  Our clients range from off-grid homeowners to commercial businesses. Although many of designs utilize alternative construction methods, we always apply energy efficient principals to conventional building designs.

Root Down Designs is an authority on the revival of ancient building methods like rammed earth, compressed earth block, cob, clay-based finishes & hybrid methods. We incorporate modern-day engineering and building science and aim to integrate the site for superior building performance.

Root Down Designs recognizes that building in a highly sustainable, low-carbon manner requires additional services including conceptual design/feasibility studies, soil identification/geological testing, design development, permitting/construction documentation, and construction administration.
