The ‘Wren House’ is an efficient, high-performing, low-carbon-footprint, small home for the sustainability minded. This 700 SF floor plan with a 1,000 SF wrap-around porch has been custom-designed specifically for the southeastern climate zones of the US. The plan consists of 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and an open Living/Kitchen design. The 10ft high ceilings make this compact space feel extra roomy and enhances natural cooling. The wrap-around porch adds an additional 1,000sf of living space which can be customized by each owner. The Wren House was developed for clients in Berkely County, SC after many failed attempts to get pre-purchased ‘Tiny House’ plans permitted due to a lack of supporting building codes. The size of this home was dictated by a desire to build at the smallest footprint possible while still complying with all International Residential Building Codes. This plan is adaptable and easily modified for future additions.
