WOMEN’S CARPENTRY WORKSHOP 101

Location: Charleston, SC

A 1 day intensive women-led / women-centered building workshop. Master carpenter, Gwen Watt,  ACBA Timberframing student, Patricia Willis, & April Magill, Architect / Natural Builder led a small group of women through the basics of carpentry & the use of certain hand & power tools.  We  walked through the process as a group and all participants left with a wooden tool that they made themselves, complete with a Japanese pull saw & a list of other handy tools.  Each participant gained the knowledge and empowerment to tackle their own small projects at home.  All photography by A Spot in Time Photography
